Agricultural Science 

As we all know about agriculture is a branch of applied science in which we discuss about food, fiber, crop production, livestock rearing, fisheries and forestry etc., to gain the economic benefits.

Branches Of Agriculture

Science of agriculture comprises on different branches which are gonna be discuss below;

These are the different branches which are including in agricultural sciences but major branches of agriculture are as follows;

Agronomy

As we know it is a branch of agriculture in which management of different crops are to be sustained to make better yield and production. Agronomy includes all management practices of almost all other branches of agriculture just to make better crop production of all crops including rice, wheat, corn, soya bean, alfalfa, forage crop, sugarcane, cotton etc.


Horticulture

It is the branch of agriculture in which we deals about the art of growing plants (fruits, vegetables, flowers and medicinal plants). It also includes management and decoration of plants to increase the beauty of landscape, or we can say that construction and maintenance of landscape. There is no link of horticulture with animal sciences. The contribution of this branch of agriculture is with making environment more beautiful and attractive.

Agricultural Engineering

It is such type of agriculture which we deals with the machineries and tools used in agriculture for agricultural production and processing of agricultural operations. In agricultural engineering, engineers used different techniques of other disciplines with the knowledge of agricultural principles to make work more efficient.

 

Animal Sciences

Animals are also have a strong connection with the field of agriculture as we mostly relates animal sciences with the department of livestock, which is a proper agricultural department work as behavior, growth, breeding (poultry) and management. Dairy farms are one of the best example of animal science, as we use different dairy products in our daily routine life. Animal science also helps to develop good methods to process animal products which are necessary for human consumption.


Agricultural Economics

Economics also have its own importance in agriculture as economics plays a key role in any department. In agriculture we have concern with different agricultural businesses and then there study, allocation, utilization and then distribution of the available resources, these all steps have a concern with the assistance of farming. In both micro and macro level there is a difference of marketing strategies. 

On micro level the production function and relationship with labor and capital need to be understood while on the other hand on macro level there is difference of detailed study and various ways of policies and rules which are made by the government in order to support the farmer.
